Leeds United have had an exceptional season following their promotion to the first division of English football. Their first match of the season was against Liverpool, the defending champions of the Premier League. The match was an intense one, and Leeds United, impressively, managed to score 3 goals. However, Liverpool won 4-3, with a late winner from the penalty spot scored by Mohamed Salah in the 88th minute.
Leeds won their next 2 games, and even drew with Manchester City after that, who came second the previous season and ended up winning the league this season. Leeds finished the season in 9th place, which is extremely impressive for a team that got promoted to the league that season. They won 18 of their league matches, drew 5 and lost 15. Leeds even managed to beat great teams like Manchester City, Tottenham and Leicester City in head-to-head matches.
Patrick Bamford had a great start to the season, with 6 goals in his first 6 games. He scored a hat-trick in The Peacocks’ 6th game of the season, which was against Aston Villa. He finished the season 4th in the rankings of the top scorers of the league, with 17 goals. He had a great partnership with Raphinha, with the duo finishing the season with 39 combined goals and assists.
