Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has been heavily linked to the Gunners since the start of this transfer window, with the club in desperate need of a striker since the departures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the winter and Alexandre Lacazette this summer. Even though the club has extended the contract of 23 year old Eddie Nketiah it is highly unlikely he will be a starter in the league next season, even with the iconic number 14 shirt.
Arsenal have reached City’s valuation of £50m for Jesus. He is reportedly being offered £16m a year (£264,000 a week), which will be increased to £17m (£280,000 a week) if he helps Arsenal qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season. This will be Arsenal’s 4th signing after Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira and Matt Turner, with the likes of Raphinha, Lisandro Martinez and Youri Tielemans all rumored to join the club.
